During the entire duration of the Barcelona Card, you use public transportation free of charge. The following means of transportation are included:

Metro incl. L9 from the airport to the city center
Streetcar
Buses (except night buses)
City and suburban trains from FCG
RENFE trains in zone 1

Tip: With the Barcelona Card you can use the metro line L9 from the airport to get to the city center of Barcelona.

Incidentally, the ticket is a separate card that does not need to be activated at the same time as the Barcelona Card. It is the Hola Travel Card.

How to make optimum use of the Barcelona Card

Visit especially expensive museums such as the MOCO Museum, the Banksy Museum, MNAC, Fundació Joan Miró and the Castell de Montjuïc.
Use public transport regularly to explore the city! Take the metro, buses and, if necessary, suburban trains.
Visit sights and museums that don't take up much time. The more time you have available, the more attractions you can visit.
Take advantage of the attractive discounts that can save you a lot of money. Take part in a city tour, for example. It's worth it!
Take note of the closing days of some attractions and museums and plan your visit accordingly. Many museums are closed on Mondays.

The Barcelona Card in four steps

1) Buy Barcelona Card

The Barcelona Card can be purchased online or at the tourist information offices in Barcelona. If you buy online, select the date on which you would like to collect the card.

2) Download online voucher

Print out the online voucher or save it on your phone and take it with you to Barcelona.

3) Pick up Barcelona Card

Pick up your Barcelona Card at a pick-up point in Barcelona. If you are traveling by plane, you can pick up your Barcelona Card directly at the airport (Terminal 1 + 2, entrance hall to the metro). Alternatively, you can pick up the card at Plaça de Catalunya.

4) Activate the Barcelona Card

As soon as you want to use the Barcelona Card, show it at the participating museums. There it will be scanned and automatically activated. The Hola Travel Card for public transport can be activated separately.
